Short Bio
Young Pro is a San Diego-born, Houston-based rapper, producer, and filmmaker who turned pain into purpose and struggle into strategy. He’s been active in the trenches and on the stages for over a decade — dropping projects, rocking venues, and building Support Street Music Group into a real machine with 98+ million streams. The music is cinematic, the business is militant, and the message is simple: Bet on yourself and build your own empire.
Extended Bio
Born January 4, 1987 in San Diego, Young Pro found hip-hop at twelve and never let go. Coming up through South East San Diego, Spring Valley, La Mesa, and Lemon Grove, he carried the weight of the neighborhood and turned it into fuel — writing from real life, not imagination. Early inspirations — 2Pac, Westside Connection, Sugar Free, Nipsey Hussle, Jay-Z, Future — sharpened a voice that blends grit, strategy, and vision.
From his first album The Painful Truth (Collectors Edition) in 2014 to the statement tape CA Made TX Paid (The Young Pro Story) in 2016, Pro proved he could both document the struggle and scale it. He kept pressure with singles like “Count This Money” (2015), “Land of the Lost” (2016), “In My Eyes” (2017), and leveled up post-pandemic with “Certified” (2021), “Beast Mode” + the Separation Remix (2023), “Born 2 Win” (2024), and the multi-format release of “The Separation” (Explicit/Clean/Instrumental/Acapella, 2024). By the end of 2024 he stamped the grind with “My Dedication” (all versions), then kept building in 2025 with new visuals and world-level goals.
On stage, he’s a proven vet — from House of Blues, Warehouse Live, and North Park Observatory to SXSW plays and packed club runs across Houston, San Diego, LA, and beyond (2014–2025). The energy earned him Performer of the Year (Aleif Awards) and put him beside names like Nipsey Hussle, Migos, Scarface, DJ Quik, Trae Tha Truth, Webbie, and Kirko Bangs. Distribution with EMPIRE since 2014 extended the reach; producing for K-Rino (Guinness record holder), Damu, Bootsyano, Sandy 3ps, ItsDC4, A-Hit, and Lil Boss ABN proved the catalog runs deeper than singles.
In 2023 he rocked a crowd of 3,500+ as a Gelato Cannabis brand ambassador. In 2025 he took the vision global — attempting a Guinness World Record with a 360° music video filmed across Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket for “The Elevation.” Veteran status? Not up for debate — it’s documented in the dates, venues, and discography.
